Abay Ethiopian Cuisine - Ethiopia is a country with a strong focus on community. Meals are served on platters to be shared among diners. In keeping with Ethiopian tradition, Abay serves its food on a platter with injera as opposed to providing individual plates for each guest (plates and utensils are available upon request).

Ali Baba - In season, out of season, it doesn't matter. Ali Baba, the Middle Eastern restaurant at South Craig Street in Oakland, buzzes with activity during the lunch hour. Faculty and staff from Pitt and CMU flock there in droves. During a recent visit, even with students from both universities discharged for the summer, the dining room was close to capacity during the noon hour.
