Northern Vermont

Brighton State Park Brighton State Park- Located in northeastern Vermont near Island Pond. This state park is located on the shores of Spectacle Pond. A sandy beach and bathhouse is located on Island Pond about ˝ mile from the campground. The biggest attraction of this park is its remoteness. There are tree-covered mountains, fast running streams, and clear lakes. It is perfect for fishing, hunting, and getting away from it all. There is a nature museum, an amphitheater, a play area and a place to rent boats.

Snow Farm Vineyard - Offers the live summer concert music series. There is also a Vermont Mozart Festival that is increasing in popularity every time. Snow farm features tour where you can walk the beautiful vineyards and see how they make the tasty wines and dairy products they produce.

Enosburg Opera House - Built In 1892 this wonderful Victorian style, wood frame building soon became a local landmark. Noted for its exceptional acoustics, the Opera House was and is a year round venue for a wide variety of events.

Great Vermont Corn Maze - Visit this 3rd generation dairy farm and lose yourself in their 5 acre cornfield maze. Explore its winding pathways and discover its hidden secrets. Also pet barnyard animals, golf, or play laser tag.

Old Stone House Museum - A monumental 30-room Twilight that still serves to instruct and inspire. Today it houses the collection of the Orleans County Historical Society. Included in its exhibits are furniture, decorative arts, folk art, paintings, textiles, costumes, kitchenware, farm and trade tools.

Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium - Northern New England's premiere museum of natural history. Explore over 18,000 square feet of exhibits and 150,000 objects from nature and cultures around the world, including comprehensive collections of northern New England's birds and wildlife and a spectacular array of large mounted mammals.

Furchgott Sourdiffe Gallery - The renovated Queen Anne Victorian displays paintings in a relaxed, browser-friendly setting. Also fine hand-crafts include hand-blocked silk, Adirondack style clocks and furnishings, hand-blown glass, and a varied selection of pottery.

Ethan Allen Homestead Museum - A short drive from downtown Burlington, the Homestead offers hands-on history, spectacular scenery, and riverside picnic areas and walks. The Homestead provides a genuine slice of 18th century life, and an intimate look at Vermont's most colorful - and controversial founder.

Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum - Since the Museum began collecting in 2002, the collection has more than doubled. There are currently over 5200 items catalogued. This number does not account for the fact that most ski equipment comes in pairs, so most likely there are nearly 7500 individual items preserved by the Vermont Ski Museum

Kingsland Bay State Park Kingsland Bay State Park- Located near Ferrisburgh which is about 20 miles south of Burlington. This park sits on the shores of Lake Champlain. You can rent a canoe or kayak and explore the bay, have a picnic, swim, fish or enjoy one of the scenic trails along the shore of the lake. There are several buildings for rent as well for reunions, meetings, or weddings.

Royall Tyler Theatre - Each Season consists of three major productions, an annual holiday event and a festival of One Act plays in the spring that is the culmination project of the senior seminar class.

Stowe Theatre Guild - A non-profit volunteer community theatre organization, pledged to present the best local theatre experience in New England and offering diverse, quality productions in a premier facility

Shelburne Museum - Discover 37 buildings that are home to vast collections of fine and decorative arts, paintings, folk sculpture, weathervanes, decoys, quilts, toys, dolls, circus memorabilia and more.

Frog Hollow - Galleries exhibit a unique collection of fine traditional and contemporary Vermont craft work of over 230 juried Vermont artisans. Each gallery hosts special exhibitions year round.

St. Johnsbury Athenaeum - A center of culture and learning for over 125 years. This free public library and art gallery, with its elaborate woodwork and spiral staircases, is home to a permanent collection of over 100 nineteenth-century paintings including Albert Bierstadt’s majestic, ” Domes of the Yosemite”.

Fleming Museum of Art - Houses Vermont's most comprehensive collection of art and anthropological artifacts. It presents innovative exhibitions of contemporary and historic art from around the world, complemented by year-round programming for all ages.

Perkins Geology Museum - Located on the Trinity Campus of The University of Vermont. The museum is dedicated to presenting geologic concepts and processes to students, scholars, and the interested public in a manner that both informs and entertains.
