The Powers Museum - Since 1988, the Powers Museum has been serving Carthage as a local history museum with rotating exhibits from the post-Civil War period to the 20th century.

The Bushwhacker Museum - Designed to appeal to all ages, with an informal atmosphere and many interactive exhibits. Children seem to be especially fascinated by the Native American exhibits, and enjoy playing "school" in the old child-sized classroom.
