National Peanut Festival

This nine-day celebration of the peanut harvest includes a variety of competitions, including recipe contests and beauty pageants. A large parade is held on the last Saturday of the festival. The fall event attracts more than 120,000 visitors. Noted as the nation's largest peanut festival, the event has been held in Dothan for over 50 years.

January 28 - Senior Bowl, Mobile - The Senior Bowl is the nation's most unique football game and football's premier pre-draft event, annually featuring the country's best senior collegiate football stars and top NFL draft prospects on teams representing the North and South which are coached by the entire coaching staffs from two National Football League teams. Senior Bowl practices are also attended by over 800 general managers, head coaches, assistant coaches, scouts and other front office personnel from the 32 National Football League teams, making Mobile and the Senior Bowl the week-long host to a one-of-a-kind NFL Coaches Convention. April 21 -22 - 28th Annual Bloomin' Festival Arts and Crafts Fair, Cullman - Bloomin' Festival is a two day juried arts festival attracting thousands of visitors to the beautiful campus of St. Bernard Abbey and Prep School. Located adjacent to the school is the world famous Ave Maria Grotto. The picturesque landscape of stone cut buildings on the grounds of Alabama's only Abbey provides a backdrop for the out-of-doors show. More than 140 booths are filled with artists demonstrating and exhibiting their work. The festival is the largest fundraiser annually for the operation and maintenance of the school. April 28 - Auburn City Fest, Auburn - Auburn CityFest is Auburn's largest, FREE, outdoor festival. It is hosted by the City of Auburn Parks & Recreation Department. May 4 - 5 - The 11th Annual Magnolia Festival, Gardendale - Celebrate Spring with live entertainment, classic car show, pooch parade, kids carnival including Eurobungy, children's village of activities, cookie eating contest for great prizes. June 22 - 24 - Alabama Sports Festival 30th Anniversary State Sports Games, Birmingham - The Alabama Sports Festival is Alabama's Olympics. The Games are open to all residents of Alabama, from novice to elite abilities and youth to senior citizens. This is Alabama's largest multisport event with 20 sports being offered. October 13 - 2nd Annual Fall Festival, Pelham - Come out and enjoy the festivities at the 2nd Annual Fall Festival from 10a.m. to 2p.m. at the Dogwood Pavilion.
